Soundhealing therapy

About me

Hi! Just to share a bit about me. I’m trained as a clinical psychologist, yoga teacher, mindfulness meditation guide, life coach, and a sound healer. Beyond that I’ve been married for over two decades and am an empty-nester with my husband Rob who is also a psychologist. Our two sons are now young adults in college and grad school and they continue to be some of my best teachers on this life’s journey.

My passion for sound and music began at an early age. I was told that my voice led me to be on stage. Even though I was extremely shy I was somehow able to get up in front of an audience and share my love of music. Throughout my elementary and high school years I found that music filled me with joy. I flourished in singing in choir and playing flute in my school band. This all led to my passion in being trained in the healing power of sound, sound healing, & sound therapy.

Beyond music, I took my interest in helping others to my education in psychology. My training began from an interest in helping teenagers feel better about themselves (working as a camp counselor) and grew until I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology. I have worked for over twenty years in a therapeutic setting and have found this to be such a rewarding career.

Throughout my graduate school studies and later in my life as a busy mom, I found that yoga was my saving grace. I found that I was constantly recommending my clients to do breathwork and meditation to reduce stress (as the benefits are huge). I eventually went on to become certified in yoga, mindfulness for stress, and sound meditation. I believe that the mind, body, & soul are deeply connected and need to be listened to and honored for healing on all levels to occur.
